This kit is THE ANSWER to unsatisfactory camshaft drive.
Increased power output, acceleration of engine revs with lighter reciprocating components, and even higher profile camshafts causes the timing chain to stretch, and inconsistent cam timing is the result. Alternative camshaft drive methods have been developed but none were completely satisfactory with oil seal seepage and belt fatigue to add to the problems.
The need for an alternative system was apparent and at SRE we have developed a gear driven camshaft kit. The system offers consistent, accurate cam timing, which in turn holds the distributor and ignition constant, on both drive and overrun. To assist in ease and accuracy of timing we have incorporated a vernier adjustment, adjustable in 1° increments with no backlash or unwanted camshaft or distributor scatter.
Our kit can be fitted with all camshafts currently in use in A/A plus series engines and comes with full fitting instructions, and brief guidelines on camshaft timing.
